In the Wind‌ • Andrea Owens

I’ve watched my life stumble by like leaves in the wind;

Currently I only get through the storm by acting like a tree,

quiet and independent.

It might not be the easiest way, but it’s the only way I know.

Happiness shouldn’t be taken for granted;

It’s about time everyone realizes that,

Not everyone knows how to be grass and not everyone knows how it feels to have friends around them like grass does.

All my life I have tried to make it out of the winter to see the summer,

but it will never matter.

I’m just a tree that lives and dies.
